Kyle Richards, star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH), is letting go of the pressures of public opinion. Recently, she revealed two new butterfly tattoos on her chest, symbolizing her newfound mindset of “not caring what people think anymore.”
Since her separation from Mauricio Umansky, Kyle has been under intense public scrutiny, with every move analyzed by fans and critics alike. But now, she’s saying goodbye to that phase of her life. “After I got it, I told the tattoo artist, ‘I can’t believe I did that. That was really brave of me,’” she shared with US Weekly, hinting at more tattoos to come.
The butterfly tattoos are part of Kyle’s ongoing transformation, which includes not only embracing more ink but also shedding the weight of others’ expectations. Once known for clapping back at online trolls, Kyle now insists she’s over it: “I don’t care what anybody thinks anymore. I’m going to do what I want. It feels really good!”
Kyle, who now sports a total of 10 tattoos, has been moving towards this self-empowered mindset for some time. Among her tattoos is a delicate matching “Lucky” piece she shares with her daughters, done in fine-line style. Each piece holds personal significance, marking moments of her journey toward self-expression.
Her split from Mauricio after 27 years of marriage has undoubtedly been one of the most difficult periods in her life. Despite considering leaving RHOBH due to feeling unsupported by some cast members and the scrutiny she faced, she ultimately chose to stay, citing her strong bond with the producers and crew as a key reason. “I’ve had a lot of fun times with the producers, who are like family,” she said.
Beyond reality TV, Kyle is also expanding her horizons in acting, starring in the upcoming LGBTQ+ Christmas film The Holiday Exchange. She sees this new chapter as an opportunity to show more of her true self. “As time has gone on, I’m more comfortable exposing parts of me that people maybe didn’t know about,” she revealed, describing this shift as “freeing.”
Now, with her ex having moved out and the two “figuring things out,” Kyle is fully stepping into her “unbothered” era, ready to embrace whatever comes next—on her own terms.
