New York – Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne have made a lasting memory together through matching tattoos, celebrating their experience on the Broadway production of The Outsiders. This decision reflects their close bond and shared journey in a significant project.
In a recent interview with CR Fashion Book, Jolie explained, “I got ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during our time on The Outsiders.” She emphasized that this phrase holds deep meaning for both of them. Jolie debuted her tattoo, delicately placed on her inner arm, at the opening night of the musical, although the location of Vivienne’s tattoo remains undisclosed.
This tattoo commemorates Jolie’s latest role as lead producer for The Outsiders, a musical adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s classic 1967 novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film. Vivienne joined her mother as a volunteer assistant on the project, where she reportedly thrived. Jolie shared with People, “She has been there to assist in any way she can and has learned so much from [score and co-book writer] Justin Levine and the whole creative team.”
The phrase “Stay Gold” carries significant weight for the duo. It not only serves as the title of a song in the musical but also reflects the final words of one of the characters. This message symbolizes the importance of maintaining innocence and goodness amid life’s challenges—a sentiment that Jolie and Vivienne now proudly embody.
This isn’t Jolie’s first matching tattoo with her children. She mentioned, “There is also a bird that I share with some of my children that is personal to us,” highlighting her desire to create meaningful connections through body art.
