The Golden State Tattoo Expo is making its comeback for the ninth year, continuing its tradition since 2016. Set to take place from September 20 to 22, 2024, the expo will be hosted at the Pasadena Convention Center. Renowned tattoo artists Nikko Hurtado and Carlos Torres are leading the event, with Inked Magazine as the presenting partner.
The expo will bring together some of the most talented tattoo artists from around the world. Attendees can expect a wide array of activities including getting tattooed, browsing original artwork, shopping for jewelry and fashion, attending educational seminars, watching live performances, and participating in burlesque shows. In addition, there will be tattoo contests, meet-and-greets with famous artists, and opportunities to explore the latest innovations in tattooing.
The event welcomes attendees of all ages and is family-friendly, with entertainment spanning the entire weekend.
Marco Ceritelli, the founder of the Golden State Tattoo Expo, highlighted the diversity of attractions. “There’s something for everyone, even if it’s your first tattoo expo,” said Ceritelli. “From live burlesque shows to browsing through our vendors, the price of admission more than covers the value of the experience.”
Carlos Torres, one of the hosts, echoed Ceritelli’s excitement. “I’ve been part of the expo since it started, and every year it gets better. I’m looking forward to the seminars and contests this year. The talent on display is amazing. Whether you’re new to the tattoo world or a seasoned enthusiast, this event is the perfect opportunity to see top-tier tattooing firsthand, get tattooed by a renowned artist, or simply support the industry by purchasing art or supplies.”
The expo will feature a variety of vendors, including big names like Sullen Art Collective, Pontual Tattoo, Revolution Ink, and Star Brite Colors. Some others include Eternal Ink, Zombie Sisters, and Tommy’s Supplies.
Ceritelli also shared details about the tattoo contests, which will run throughout the weekend. “Anyone can enter their tattoos into the contest,” he said. The contests will take place across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, each with different categories.
For those looking to deepen their understanding of tattooing, four seminars will be offered. These include “The Art of Freehand Tattooing” led by Konstantin Strokin, and sessions by tattoo artists Valentina Riabova, Michael Perry, and Nikko Hurtado.
Attendees will have the chance to meet some of the world’s most talented tattoo artists. Some of the notable names include Pony Lawson, Stefano Alcantara, Jess Yen, Michael Hussar, Lilli Nonnweiter, and Pedro Lopes. The list also features Jordi Pla, Alyssa L’Heureux, Boris Bianchi, Zack Singer, and many others.
The 2024 Golden State Tattoo Expo kicks off on Friday, September 20, from 4 p.m. to midnight. The event continues on Saturday from noon to midnight, wrapping up the weekend on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
“It’s going to be a fantastic weekend,” Ceritelli said. “People can enjoy the cool indoors away from the heat while exploring art, grabbing some food, and immersing themselves in exciting installations. Plus, it’s a great way to support incredibly talented tattoo artists and vendors.”
For those eager to see and meet the best tattoo artists in the industry, the 2024 Golden State Tattoo Expo promises to be an unmissable event.
