“Star Wars: Andor” Actress Gets Tattoo Dedicated to Her Character

by Jessica

Adria Arjona, known for her role as Bix Caleen in “Star Wars: Andor,” has taken her dedication to the franchise to a new level by getting a tattoo in honor of her character. During an interview, Arjona revealed that she received the tattoo while on set filming the second season of “Andor.”

“I got a Bix tattoo!” Arjona shared, showing the small “x” tattoo on her arm to a reporter from The Hollywood Reporter. “You’re the first person I’ve told about this, press-wise. I got it while I was on set. My makeup artist did a stick-and-poke [tattoo] in the middle of a lunch break.”

The “stick-and-poke” method of tattooing is a manual technique often associated with prison tattoos rather than a high-profile television set. Despite this, Arjona was enthusiastic about the experience, although her co-stars were hesitant to join in. “No, I think everyone was too scared,” she explained. “They were like, ‘A stick-and-poke at lunch? Can we get fired?’ And I was like, ‘It’s too late!'”

Bix Caleen became a fan-favorite character in the first season of “Andor,” particularly in the final arc, where she was captured and tortured by the Empire. Despite being subjected to brutal treatment, Bix remained resilient, symbolizing the strength and courage needed to become a Rebel operative.

Arjona’s decision to get a tattoo of her character reflects the impact the role has had on her career. Since the release of “Andor” in 2022, she has secured roles in Richard Linklater’s Netflix film “Hit Man,” and the upcoming thriller “Blink Twice” alongside Channing Tatum. She is also working on the crime-drama series “Criminal.”

As Arjona continues to build her career, her connection to Bix Caleen remains strong. When asked about the possibility of a spinoff series, she told Variety, “I feel like a big spinoff could be later in my career. I’m trying to give job security to myself in the future. I’m trying to elongate it. I got a tattoo for Bix. My makeup artist from the show did it in my trailer.”

“Star Wars: Andor” Season 2 is set to be released next year, with fans eagerly awaiting the return of Bix Caleen.
