Mark Wahlberg has publicly expressed his love for his wife by showing off a new tattoo. On “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the actor revealed a tattoo of the name “Rhea” on his ring finger, honoring his wife, Rhea Durham.
Wahlberg, who has removed all his other tattoos, said this one is the “only remaining” tattoo he has. In a conversation with Jeff Goldblum, Wahlberg shared that Rhea’s reaction to the tattoo was deeply moving. She called it “the nicest thing [he has] ever done.”
Wahlberg explained that he got the tattoo as a Valentine’s Day gift. “In case I’m not wearing my ring or working, I can always have this,” he said. He humorously added, “Can I have back the nice jewelry and give you one of these and there we go?” in response to his wife’s heartfelt reaction.
Married since 2009, Wahlberg and Durham have four children. Recently, Wahlberg attended a red carpet event for his upcoming Netflix film, “Union,” where he stars alongside Halle Berry. The actor was joined by Durham and three of their children for the event.
In discussing the film, Wahlberg mentioned his long-standing relationship with Berry. “Halle and I have known each other for a long time,” he said. “This movie is great because it’s every guy’s fantasy to think they have a chance with Halle Berry.” He also noted the oddity of portraying romance on screen after being married for nearly 16 years.
“Union” features Wahlberg and Berry as characters who reconnect after years apart. The film’s synopsis describes how Mike’s “long-lost high school sweetheart, Roxanne (Berry), shows up with more on her mind than romance.” It continues, “She recruits Mike for a dangerous intelligence mission in Europe, pulling them into a world of spies and high-speed chases, with sparks flying along the way.”
