Mon Repos police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Pleasantville on June 24. The suspect, described as having a cross tattoo under his right eye, targeted a local businesswoman.
The incident took place at around 9:15 a.m. at Excentric Essential, the business owned by the 42-year-old victim. According to police, the man entered the store, locked the front door, and then pointed a gun at the woman, announcing the robbery.
He proceeded to steal $5,000 in cash, an iPhone 13 valued at $5,000, and a Samsung phone worth $1,200. After taking the items, he left the scene.
The suspect is described as an African descent male, light brown in complexion, about 5’5″ tall, and slim-built. He was wearing a blue jersey, three-quarter jeans, and a fisherman hat at the time of the robbery.
Mon Repos police responded to the incident with W/Cpl Charles and WPC Frederick gathering evidence. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspect. So far, no arrests have been made. PC Ramjattan is leading the investigation.
