In the heart of Midtown Sacramento, “Ladies Empowered Sacramento Tattoos” — known as Les Tattoos — is a place where art, identity, and community intersect.
Claiming to be the largest LGBTQ female-owned and operated tattoo studio on the West Coast, Les Tattoos aims to go beyond just tattoos — it’s about creating an inclusive environment.
Mari Dominguez, the owner, founded Les Tattoos out of a passion for art and a need for a safe space where queer expression is celebrated. She is inspired by other queer-inclusive shops in the city and sees a growing trend nationwide.
Dominguez acknowledges that many traditional tattoo shops can be unwelcoming to queer communities, which often leads to discomfort. At Les Tattoos, she strives to change that narrative, welcoming clients and artists who appreciate the studio’s commitment to inclusivity.
“When someone sees the community we’ve built here and decides they want to join us, it’s truly magical,” Dominguez says.
