Gabe Brown has permanently honored his late brother, Garrison Brown, with a new tattoo.
The “Sister Wives” star got the tattoo in memory of his brother, who passed away in March. Their mother, Janelle Brown, shared a photo of the tattoo on June 6, alongside pictures from a night out with Gabe and his sister, Savanah Brown. The first photo showed Gabe’s arm as he reached for Korean barbecue.
An observant Instagram user noticed the tattoo and commented, “Is that Gabe’s arm with the ‘to the stars’ tattoo? What a lovely tribute to Garrison.”
Janelle confirmed, saying, “Yes! Many of the kids got a tattoo with some version of that quote. It was one of Garrison’s favorite movies growing up and even as an adult.”
She was referring to the quote from the movie “Dragonheart,” which says, “To the stars, Bowen, to the stars.”
Social media users praised Gabe’s tribute. One called it a “beautiful tribute to his brother,” while another said, “That’s so beautiful.”
After Garrison’s death, several siblings referenced the “Dragonheart” quote in their social media tributes. Leon Brown, Meri and Kody Brown’s only child, shared a selfie with Garrison and included the quote in the caption. Mykelti Padron also posted, “Have fun up with the stars little bro, you’re missed.”
In the same photo, Gabe was wearing a bracelet in honor of Garrison. Janelle explained, “Some dear friends got us all one. When you look through the circle, it’s a picture of Garrison. We love them.”
Recently, Janelle has shared updates about her life without Garrison. Reflecting on Mother’s Day, she said it was emotional for her, more than usual. She mentioned how making Garrison’s favorite pie, strawberry rhubarb, was bittersweet.
In April, Janelle updated fans on Garrison’s pets. Two of his cats are now with her son Logan Brown and his wife Michelle, while another cat is with Christine Brown’s daughter Aspyn Brown and her husband Mitch Thompson.
“It was awesome that we could continue to take care of them like he would,” she wrote.
Janelle also shared a heartfelt message on what would have been Garrison’s birthday. “We are missing you terribly today. It’s hard to believe you aren’t here anymore. We talked a lot about you today and even went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner (your favorite place). I still feel you nearby sometimes. And I’m grateful we will see each other again when my journey is completed.”
