Paris Jackson, known for her myriad tattoos, including the ones she concealed with makeup at this year’s GRAMMYs, has added another to her collection. The 26-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson revealed her latest ink, a shoulder tattoo, on Monday, June 3rd.
Her chosen artist for this endeavor was Nicole L, who took to Instagram to share snapshots of the new artwork. “No.5 Sanskrit,” Nicole captioned the post. Sanskrit, an ancient language of India, is renowned for its presence in Hindu scriptures and classical Indian epic poems. Expressing gratitude, Nicole added, “Thank you for believing in me.”
While neither Paris nor her artist have officially disclosed the tattoo’s significance, HELLO! magazine, affiliated with our publication, reports that when translated from the Devanagari script, it reads, “Go there, however, for the grace of god.” A similar interpretation was echoed by a commenter on the post.
Paris’s affinity for body modifications extends beyond tattoos to piercings. In the shared photo, her six ear piercings adorned with small gold hoops are visible.
Although the exact count remains uncertain, Paris boasts a tattoo collection of at least 80 designs. Notably, she has even turned her hand to tattooing herself, as revealed in a 2022 interview with PEOPLE magazine. Among her diverse inkings are colorful chakras, a dragonfly, sunflower, crescent moon, and numerous tributes to her late father, Michael Jackson, such as her ‘Applehead’ foot tattoo and a rendition of his 1989 album, ‘Dangerous.’
Addressing her decision to conceal her tattoos at the GRAMMYs, Paris explained to Entertainment Tonight her desire to allow her Celine dress to take center stage. “I love my tattoos, I love my piercings, I love all the body modification stuff, art, and also sometimes I don’t want it to distract from the art that is the fashion I’m wearing,” she expressed. “And it gives the dress its own moment, you know?”
In addition to her latest tattoo, Paris also acquired new facial jewelry, including a double nose piercing, each adorned with distinctive nose rings. Taking to her Instagram story on Monday, she showcased these edgy and stylish additions.
