Christian Nodal has stirred up a storm across social media platforms by unveiling recent photographs of himself sans his signature face tattoos on Tuesday (April 9).
Taking to his Instagram profile, the renowned Mexican artist showcases a striking transformation: sporting a mushroom haircut, clad in a sleek black suit, and notably devoid of any facial ink. The heart, the number 11, the spiderweb, and other prominent tattoos have been conspicuously erased. “If someone tells you that I became a jerk… tell them a jerk and a half,” he quipped in Spanish alongside the post.
Simultaneously, during a live broadcast on his Instagram channel, he revealed plans for shooting a new music video on the same day and provided updates on his forthcoming album. “I’ve devoted all my time to the album and the tour, meticulously planning every aspect […] and it’s shaping up beautifully: the documentary, the music, the performance. I’m striving to ensure that next month, we’ll have fresh music […] this album is my masterpiece,” he conveyed in a video message within the group chat.
Nodal — who has yet to confirm whether his unmarked face is the result of makeup for the music video or a genuine absence of tattoos — had previously shared insights with Billboard about his relationship with body art. I’ve dedicated a significant portion of my life to tattooing, whether it’s getting inked or contemplating opening a tattoo parlor. My aim is to hone my skills as a proficient tattoo artist,” he disclosed. “Currently, I’m in the process of removing some facial tattoos, and while it’s a painful journey, it’s also gratifying.”
“I recall when I embarked on my journey with tattoos or altered my fashion style, transitioning away from the conventional soap opera aesthetic in my music videos. These changes paved the way for new talents, and that’s truly remarkable,” he reflected.
