Kit Connor recently revealed a matching tattoo he got with his Warfare castmates, commemorating the bond they formed during the filming of the intense A24 film. Connor, alongside actors Charles Melton, Noah Centineo, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Joseph Quinn, Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, and Michael Gandolfini, portrays Navy SEALs in the 2006 Iraq-based mission drama.
During a special screening for veterans on March 12, co-directors Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza, along with Melton and Woon-A-Tai, discussed the cast’s rigorous preparation, including a three-month “immersive boot camp.” The cast trained from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, learning military tactics and communication. By the end, they shaved their heads and got matching tattoos that read “Call On Me.”
Woon-A-Tai revealed the tattoos had deep meaning for the group. “We found meaning within ourselves and with that title,” he explained. Connor, who proudly showed off his tattoo, was one of the cast members who participated. The tattoo, though small, symbolizes the deep connection they formed during filming.
Connor previously spoke about the camaraderie on set, describing director Garland as a “genius” and noting how quickly the cast bonded. He emphasized the collaborative atmosphere on set, where egos were left at the door. “We were together for two months and ate together, trained together, worked together,” he said. “I love them all dearly.”
Charles Melton echoed Connor’s sentiments, highlighting the life-changing impact of the experience. “It changes your perspective on a lot of different things,” he said. “I think I grew a lot as an individual and became a better person because of the guys that were part of this.”
