Tattoo Artist’s Mistake Goes Viral After Client’s Ink Features Phone Icon

by Jessica

A tattoo artist from Wolverhampton has unintentionally gone viral after sharing a new inking on TikTok that left viewers both laughing and cringing. Paul Baxter, known for his tattoo skills, posted a video showcasing a recent design, but it quickly garnered attention for all the wrong reasons.

In the video, Baxter begins by holding up a piece of paper displaying the tattoo design his client had requested, followed by the stencil placed on the back of his neck. The black-and-white tattoo depicted a blonde woman seductively sucking her index finger, alongside a snake with its mouth wide open and tongue sticking out.

Proud of the finished product, Baxter shared a “before and after” shot of his client’s new ink. While the design closely resembled what the client had envisioned, a minor, but significant, detail in the tattoo left social media users in disbelief.

The error was first spotted by sharp-eyed viewers: The printed design featured three dots on the right side of the image, a common feature on many digital devices, which gives users options such as sharing or deleting. This detail, typically seen on phone screens, had inadvertently made its way into the tattoo.

Within a day, the TikTok video, which has amassed nearly 510,000 views, was flooded with comments calling attention to the blunder. “Help, not you including three dots from the screenshot on the tattoo,” one user wrote, receiving over 4,000 likes. Another commenter expressed disbelief, stating, “No way he included the three dots to share image.”

Some viewers found humor in the mistake, joking, “The good thing is, he can’t see it,” while others took a more critical tone, calling the design a “red flag.”

However, not all comments were negative. A few defended Baxter, suggesting that the blame should lie with the client for the design choice. “To be fair, the drawing is exactly how it was in the stencil. I think the one to blame is the client for having the idea,” one person commented.

Despite the online uproar, Paul Baxter has yet to respond to the criticism. As for the client, it’s unclear whether he has noticed the unfortunate detail.

In a related note, the cost of removing a tattoo can vary widely depending on the size, complexity, and color of the ink. Prices for tattoo removal sessions range from £30 to £250, with laser treatment being the most common method. Laser removal works by using focused light pulses to break down tattoo ink particles, which are then gradually eliminated by the body’s immune system.
