Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s recent Instagram photo dump has generated significant buzz online, particularly due to a noticeable change in her tattoo. In the series of pictures, the actress shared a mix of playful and candid moments, including one where she is seen sipping a mocktail and another where she lies on a hospital bed. However, what caught the eye of many was the apparent fading of a tattoo visible in her mocktail photo.
The tattoo in question was once a matching design shared between Samantha and her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya. The ink, placed on their wrists, held personal significance, symbolizing the phrase “create your own reality.” This image led some internet users to speculate that Samantha may be in the process of removing the tattoo, sparking a variety of responses across social media platforms.
A Reddit post highlighting the tattoo’s possible removal read, “Looks like Samantha is finally getting her tattoo removed. This was a matching tattoo with Chay.. it means ‘create your own reality.’” The post quickly gained traction, with many weighing in on the matter. One user commented, “At least Chay and Sam were married, but DP got a tattoo hardly a year into dating, and she kept it for a long time after.” Another user corrected the interpretation of the tattoo’s design, stating, “That is not a Viking symbol for ‘create your own reality,’ by the way.”
Some comments echoed advice on tattoos with partner names, with one user suggesting, “Good riddance. NEVER get partner name tattoos, guys… You never know when the relationship will come to an end, and it’s a painful thing to remove the tattoo.”
For those unfamiliar, Samantha had previously shared the meaning of the tattoo when she and Naga Chaitanya were together. She explained, “My tattoo means ‘Create your own reality.’ Chay and I got it together. It’s really special for us.” In addition to the shared tattoo, Samantha had also gotten ‘Chay’ inked on her rib during their marriage.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya tied the knot in 2017 after a long relationship but divorced in 2021. Naga Chaitanya went on to marry actress Sobhita Dhulipala in a traditional Telugu ceremony in December of the previous year.
