Miley Cyrus added a few fresh pieces to her already extensive tattoo collection, debuting them on the red carpet at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on January 5. The 32-year-old singer stepped onto the Los Angeles red carpet in a striking Celine by Hedi Slimane gown, featuring embroidered cutouts and a daring low back, which perfectly complemented her bold, rock star aesthetic.
Ahead of the ceremony, a fan account shared exclusive photos showing Miley with new ink. A close-up image of her hand revealed the word “songs” tattooed just above her thumb, likely a nod to her songwriting hand. The caption on the post read, “Miley Cyrus got a new ‘SONGS’ tattoo on her songwriting hand & is wearing the Bangerz era bracelet,” drawing attention to her iconic chain link bracelet.
Additionally, a separate post showcased Miley sitting in a tattoo chair, with a glimpse of the new starburst-like design behind her ear. While it’s unclear when exactly these tattoos were done, the Golden Globes event marked the first time Miley revealed them to the public.
Cyrus paired her dramatic gown with bold eye makeup and an intentional, edgy updo. Hairstylist Bob Recine described the look as “custom” and inspired by a mix of Debbie Harry and Japanese cartoon characters, all while maintaining an undone, punk vibe.
This appearance at the Golden Globes was particularly special for Miley, marking her return to the event for the first time since 2009. She was nominated for Best Original Song – Motion Picture for her track Beautiful That Way, written and recorded for Gia Coppola’s film The Last Showgirl. After the nomination, Miley expressed her gratitude toward Pamela Anderson, who stars in the film, as well as Coppola, for allowing her to be a part of the project.
“Thank you Gia Coppola for inviting me to be a part of your gem The Last Showgirl,” Miley wrote on Instagram, adding, “It’s an honor to be nominated for Best Original Song alongside my friends and collaborators Andrew Wyatt and Lykke Li at the Golden Globes & Critics Choice Awards.”
Cyrus also praised Anderson, writing, “Pamela is graciously sharing her moment with us. I am continuing to root for her; it’s so fun to watch her shine.”
