Lily Allen has hinted at getting a tattoo that symbolizes “accepting pain” after news of her estranged husband, David Harbour, moving on with a new partner.
The 39-year-old singer, who has been dealing with a reported health scare amid her split from Harbour, made the revelation during a recent episode of her podcast Miss Me?.
In the episode, Allen shared with her cohost, Miquita Oliver, that she had been inspired by a recent book she read on “self-compassion.” One particular phrase stood out to her: “‘Suffering x pain = resistance.” Allen admitted she might even get this phrase inked on her body.
Reflecting on the concept, Allen explained, “You have to sit with the pain, confront the pain, and accept the pain. Love the pain, caress the pain… It’s OK for things to be painful and for you to feel pain. If you’re batting it away, you’re resisting it, and that is the cause of your actual suffering.”
Allen’s comments come shortly after reports that Harbour, the star of Stranger Things, is dating model and actress Ellie Fallon, as per The Mail.
In December, Allen and Harbour reportedly separated, marking the end of their marriage.
