Getting a tattoo can be a significant decision, and it’s essential to choose both the right design and the right artist. However, TikTok user Anicole experienced an unfortunate twist despite putting in the effort to select a design she loved and a reputable artist.
Anicole had envisioned a matching tattoo with her friend: a butterfly wing on the back of her upper arm, which would complete with her friend’s half of the design. Unfortunately, the result was far from what she had expected. Instead of a delicate butterfly wing, the tattoo resembled what she described as “limp d*cks,” leaving her in a state of disbelief and despair.
In an emotional TikTok video, Anicole shared her reaction, captioning it: “When you try to get cute matching tattoos and you get two limp d*cks instead!” The video shows Anicole holding her head in her hands, overwhelmed by the outcome, and she explained her distress to her followers. The clip quickly went viral, amassing over 754,000 likes, with many social media users making light of the situation. One comment read, “Whoever did this knew. They knew,” while others joked, “Is this a prison tattoo?” and “The fact one of you went first… and the other stayed true to the plan.”
In a follow-up video, Anicole clarified the situation. She reassured her followers that she didn’t blame the tattoo artist or the shop, but she expressed her belief that the artist must have known what the design looked like in its final form. “The first picture of it I saw was in the video, and I started sobbing. I cried for probably an hour after I saw the tattoo on my arm,” she confessed.
Addressing rumors that the tattoo was infected, Anicole explained that her skin was simply irritated from the recent tattooing process, as the videos were filmed shortly after she left the shop.
Fortunately, Anicole didn’t leave things as they were. A few hours later, she returned to a different artist for a touch-up, and the result was much closer to her original vision. The newly completed tattoo now resembles the intended butterfly wing, and Anicole expressed relief and happiness with the final outcome. “I’m definitely happier with it now,” she said, adding that, in time, it would become a story she could laugh about.
What began as a tattoo disaster ended on a positive note, with Anicole finding humor and perspective in the mishap.
