Savage Daughter’s Tattoo and Piercing, a new venture from Shawanna Heid, will officially open its doors to the public on Saturday morning in Chester. The shop, located at 564 Carolina Ave., marks a major career shift for Heid, who spent 18 years working as a registered nurse in emergency rooms and jails before transitioning to tattooing, body piercing, and permanent makeup artistry.
Heid’s decision to pursue this new career path came after she left her position in Lisbon on August 28. She chose to open the business in the space previously occupied by Ron Gray’s tattoo shop, F Bomb. Gray will continue his work as a tattoo artist at Savage Daughter, specializing in general tattoo designs.
Heid will offer a range of services, including body piercing and permanent makeup, such as tattoo cover-ups. Unlike many other studios that use laser technology for tattoo removal, Heid employs a less painful and more cost-effective solution for this service.
In addition to tattoo and piercing services, the shop will feature a variety of metaphysical items, including herbs, candles, crystals, and occult-themed products. Heid also plans to offer unique, hard-to-find plants and a selection of designer-style bags and jewelry aimed at budget-conscious shoppers.
Heid hopes to expand the shop’s offerings by providing DIY-style workshops for customers in the future.
To celebrate the grand opening, Savage Daughter will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. While regular hours will be posted on the shop’s doors, they will also be updated on the store’s social media pages, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. On opening day, Heid will offer a special $25 piercing promotion.
