A renowned dermatologist has revealed five beauty practices she strictly avoids, cautioning followers about potential risks. Dr. Gurveen Waraich, of Garekars MD Dermatology Clinic, recently shared these insights in a video on her Instagram, offering her expert advice on skin and hair care.
One of the main points Dr. Waraich emphasized was the choice of tattoo ink. While many people opt for colorful tattoos in shades like green, red, or purple, the dermatologist warns against using green or red ink. “I would never get a green or red tattoo,” she explained. “These colors are particularly difficult to remove with laser treatment, and if you regret the tattoo later, the removal process is extremely painful.”
Dr. Waraich also listed other beauty practices she avoids for personal care. Among them is opting for deep chemical peels, especially after the age of 40. “I would never undergo a strong, deep chemical peel session on my face,” she shared, citing concerns about potential skin damage.
Another warning was directed at hair treatments. Dr. Waraich described hair rebonding or straightening as “suicide for your hair,” advising against such procedures for long-term hair health.
She also expressed caution about certain cosmetic procedures, particularly dermal fillers. “I would never inject dermal fillers directly into the nasolabial folds without first addressing face lifting or cheek contouring,” she noted, underscoring the importance of a comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation.
Finally, Dr. Waraich stressed the importance of sunscreen, a staple in her skincare routine. “I would never skip my sunscreen,” she said firmly, reminding her followers to protect their skin from harmful UV rays every day.
Her video serves as a reminder to carefully consider beauty treatments, with Dr. Waraich’s expert advice guiding followers toward safer and more effective practices.
