Giovanni Pernice and Bianca Guaccero have shared a special milestone in their relationship, unveiling matching tattoos just days after they were crowned winners of Italy’s Ballando con le Stelle. Their victory on the dance competition has sparked fresh speculation about their future together, with Pernice hinting at the possibility of marriage.
Pernice, 34, who is best known for his appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, had previously made headlines when he suggested he would “seriously think about” proposing to Guaccero, 43, if they won the competition. Their win marks a triumphant end to a tumultuous year for Pernice, who had exited Strictly Come Dancing amid controversy surrounding bullying allegations involving his former partner, Amanda Abbington.
“If we win the show, I’ll seriously think about it,” Pernice had said following a stunning Tango performance with Guaccero. “It would be a big step, and I would take it seriously.”
Before any wedding plans take shape, however, the couple has solidified their bond in another way—by getting matching tattoos to commemorate their victory on Ballando con le Stelle. On Monday evening, Guaccero shared a photo on Instagram showing both of their wrists adorned with the date of their win.
“@Giovannipernice. Una data,” she wrote, followed by a gold medal emoji and the phrase “INCANCELLABILE” (“Indelible”) along with a heart emoji. The tattoo signifies the significance of their shared achievement and the enduring nature of their commitment.
Their relationship has flourished over the course of their time on the show. Guaccero revealed that she had struggled with believing in true love until meeting Pernice. “After a long time, there is someone who takes care of me and cares about me,” she said. Pernice, in turn, expressed how much Guaccero meant to him: “A woman like her has been missing from my life.”
The couple’s chemistry on and off the dance floor has been palpable, particularly during their passionate Rumba performance, which ended with a kiss. “He’s goofy and crazy, and that made me fall in love with him. It had been a long time since I felt happiness in my heart,” Guaccero shared.
In November, Pernice made it clear that Guaccero was his “priority” and would continue to be, even after the show ended. The couple has spent time with each other’s families, with Guaccero visiting Pernice in London and Pernice meeting Guaccero’s family in Bitonto, Southern Italy.
“I had a heavy stone on my heart,” Guaccero confessed. “When I met Giovanni, I felt at home.” Pernice, meanwhile, expressed his happiness at building a strong bond with Guaccero’s family, adding that her mother Rosa had given her approval, saying, “I like him as a person.”
The tattoo unveiling comes after a difficult year for Pernice, who left Strictly Come Dancing following a BBC investigation into allegations made by his former partner Abbington. While the BBC cleared Pernice of 10 out of 16 allegations, six claims were upheld, including accusations of verbal bullying and harassment, prompting an apology from BBC bosses. As a result, Pernice did not return for Strictly Come Dancing 2024, instead joining the Italian version of the show.
The couple’s matching tattoos may mark the beginning of another chapter in their relationship, one that fans will be watching closely as they continue to navigate both their personal and professional lives together.
