Amanda Holden, host of Heart FM and judge on Britain’s Got Talent, recently revealed that she got her first tattoo during a holiday with friends. The 53-year-old described the decision as spontaneous and mentioned that her husband, Chris Hughes, wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about her new ink.
Holden shared the details during a broadcast on Heart FM, explaining that she chose a small tattoo on her wrist as a tribute to her two children. “I said to Jane, let’s do it. We found a place, and he could fit us in, so we both got the same thing,” she said. The tattoo features two small hearts, symbolizing her children. She also hinted at plans to add another element to the design in the future.
Despite the meaningful symbolism, Chris Hughes was unimpressed with Amanda’s new tattoo. “I got home from LA, and no one in my family noticed except my child who was with me and couldn’t get over it,” Holden recounted. She humorously described trying to draw attention to her wrist by pretending to wipe her brow while speaking to her husband. When Chris finally noticed, his reaction was lukewarm. “He said, ‘It looks fake,’ then added, ‘It looks naff,’ and finally, ‘What’s next? Now the children will want one,’” she shared.
Despite her husband’s reaction, Holden expressed her satisfaction with the tattoo, saying, “Power to me, and Jane, and my friend Sarah!”
Meanwhile, Holden continues her role as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, where auditions are underway across the UK. This season, she joins Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, and KSI, who is temporarily replacing Bruno Tonioli. During one audition, Holden unintentionally revealed a staged moment on the show, leading to a lighthearted mishap.
Fans can catch Amanda Holden on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston weekdays from 06:30 to 10:00 across the UK and on Global Player.
