Dolly Parton recently opened up about the tattoos hidden on her body, which have never been seen by the public, even during her revealing performance at the Dallas Cowboys halftime show last year. She explained that her reasons for getting inked go beyond mere aesthetics.
Despite having tattoos, Dolly admits she is not a fan of them and clarified that none of her tattoos reference her husband, Carl Thomas Dean. In a light-hearted manner, she joked about adding more tattoos to prove skeptics wrong.
Dolly revealed that she started getting tattoos to cover up scars from plastic surgery, decorating these areas with artistic symbols like butterflies, bows, and flowers. She explained that she doesn’t display her tattoos for attention; she simply got them to feel good about herself.
She shared a personal story about a feeding tube that left a dent on her side, which she cleverly concealed with a tattoo. Her butterfly tattoos, which she considers a reflection of her personality, symbolize beauty and gentleness, as they “neither bite nor sting.” Additionally, she has a bee tattoo located near the dent, depicted on a yellow and brown beehive.
Dolly expressed her willingness to get more tattoos if needed, as her skin can make cuts look more pronounced. However, she plans to keep the designs light and pastel, as she prefers a softer look over heavy ink.
