Tyler Herro Shows Off New Tattoos Featuring Powerpuff Girls and Miami Heat Jersey

by Jessica

Miami Heat star Tyler Herro is making headlines both on and off the court. After a challenging season where he missed 40 games, Herro has been working hard during the offseason to prepare for a strong return. While he’s been spending plenty of time in the gym, he’s also been frequenting tattoo parlors. His latest addition? A collection of tattoos across his stomach, including a surprising tribute to the Powerpuff Girls.

Herro’s friend and content producer Trey Mena shared images of the 24-year-old’s new ink on social media. The tattoos span his abdominal area and feature a mix of personal and playful designs. Across the top of his stomach, Herro has tattooed his basketball jerseys from Whitnall High School, the University of Kentucky, and the Miami Heat. The lower portion showcases a vintage car, the Milwaukee Brewers logo, and perhaps most unexpectedly, Buttercup from the Powerpuff Girls.

While the jersey tattoos reflect his basketball journey, the Buttercup design caught many fans off guard on social media. The unexpected tribute to the cartoon character even overshadowed his nod to his former teams and current NBA squad, the Heat.

Herro’s jersey tattoos serve as a reminder of his impressive basketball career. During his time at Whitnall High School, he had a standout senior year, earning a First-Team All-State selection. He averaged 32.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game, and finished his high school career with more than 2,000 points.

Despite his success in high school, Herro was rated as only a four-star recruit in the 2018 class. However, Kentucky’s legendary coach John Calipari recognized his potential and offered him a scholarship. Herro accepted and had a solid season at Kentucky, where he averaged 14 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He also helped the team reach the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament.

After one year in college, Herro declared for the 2019 NBA Draft. The Heat selected him 13th overall, drafting him with hopes he’d become a future starter. Herro exceeded expectations in his rookie season, averaging 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists during the regular season. His performance in the playoffs was even more impressive. In Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics, Herro scored 37 points, breaking the franchise record for most points in a playoff game by a rookie.

Herro played a crucial role in the Heat’s run to the NBA Finals in 2020, where they ultimately lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. His development continued, and in 2022, he was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year. The Heat rewarded him with a four-year, $130 million contract extension.

However, injuries have limited Herro’s impact over the past two seasons. Now, with a fresh set of tattoos and a determination to bounce back, he’s aiming for a big season ahead.
