Ghanaian musician and entrepreneur, Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, popularly known as D-Black, has always been open about his love for tattoos. In a recent interview with Kumasi-based Ultimate FM, the artist shared the personal significance behind the many tattoos that cover his body.
D-Black revealed that some of his tattoos are Bible verses, reflecting his spiritual connection. “I have scriptures tattooed on my body because God is my best friend,” he said. Among these verses are John 3:16, Isaiah 41:10, and Proverbs 3:27, all of which hold deep personal meaning to him. “I love all the verses on my body; they apply to my personal life,” he added.
Beyond religious references, D-Black’s tattoos also pay tribute to important people and moments in his life. He has tattoos commemorating his grandmother, the Black Avenue logo, and the birth years of his daughters. He also has a tattoo of himself with his father on the day he was born, alongside tattoos marking his father’s birthday and the day he passed away.
Although he doesn’t consider himself deeply spiritual, D-Black noted that these tattoos serve as reminders of key events and relationships in his life.
