Indian cricketer Rinku Singh, who plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), shared the story behind his new tattoo, “God’s Plan,” during an interview on Saturday. He revealed that hitting five consecutive sixes against the Gujarat Titans in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) significantly changed his life.
Rinku has recently been included in India’s squad for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. This three-match series kicks off on Sunday, with the first match set to take place in Gwalior. The subsequent games will be held in Delhi and Hyderabad on October 9 and 12, respectively.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video on their official social media channels, featuring Rinku discussing his tattoo. He explained that the tattoo symbolizes the five sixes he hit during the IPL, which were pivotal to his success.
“I always say ‘God’s Plan.’ I designed my tattoo around that idea. I got it a few weeks ago. The words ‘God’s Plan’ are inside a circle that represents the sun. The main feature of the tattoo is the five sixes I hit in the IPL. They changed my life, so I wanted to include them in the tattoo,” Rinku stated.
In that memorable IPL match, Rinku faced Yash Dayal of the Gujarat Titans, where he hit five consecutive sixes, leading KKR to a vital victory.
Recently, India completed a 2-0 Test series win over Bangladesh at home. During the Kanpur Test, rain and a wet outfield caused delays. Bangladesh ended the first day at 107/3. When they resumed on day four with the same score, a draw seemed likely as only the first innings had been played. However, Bangladesh was eventually bowled out for 233. India then scored 285/9, taking two Bangladeshi wickets by the end of day four. The following day, India dismissed Bangladesh for 146, leading by 94 runs. India chased down the target of 95 runs with ease.
