Tattoo artists from across the United States converged in downtown Scranton this weekend for the annual Electric City Tattoo Convention, transforming the Hilton Scranton and Conference Center into a vibrant hub of ink, artistry, and culture.
More than 200 of the nation’s top tattoo artists participated in the three-day event, which wrapped up Sunday evening. Attendees not only had the chance to receive custom tattoos from renowned professionals but also witnessed live tattoo competitions and award ceremonies celebrating the industry’s best work.
The convention, now a staple in Lackawanna County, offered more than just body art. Guests were treated to live entertainment throughout the weekend, including burlesque performances and pin-up contests that added flair and personality to the already buzzing atmosphere.
“The atmosphere of it is just unmatched,” said James Conway of Elmhurst Township, who attended for the second time. “I was really intimidated my first year, but everyone’s been super nice and helpful and respectful. Everyone’s just been a gem.”
Billy White, a tattoo artist from Zanesville, Ohio, echoed the positive sentiment, praising the event’s growth and local hospitality. “Everybody here is top tier. Every year somehow gets a little bit better—whether it’s the cooking outside, the amazing hotel staff, or just being in a beautiful city like Scranton.”
The Electric City Tattoo Convention concluded at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, leaving behind colorful memories and lasting impressions etched in ink.
