Los Angeles, CA – Actress Megan Fox has expressed her admiration for Machine Gun Kelly’s recent blackout tattoo, describing it as “really elegant” and “ahead of its time.

Speaking on the latest episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Fox discussed MGK’s controversial tattoo, which he debuted on Instagram last month. Fox stated that MGK has a “private narrative” associated with the tattoo that he alone can disclose.

“The connection he had with his former tattoos was quite emotionally complicated, for reasons I’m not entirely aware of,” Fox explained. “He wished to erase those memories and the tattoos that symbolized them.”

Fox further described the blackout tattoo as “an elevated iteration” of MGK’s previous fragmented tattoos. “I find it aesthetically pleasing and believe it anticipates future trends,” she said. “I anticipate it gaining widespread acceptance in the coming years.”

Fox also revealed that MGK did not undergo anesthesia during the lengthy tattoo session, which some individuals opt for when receiving extensive work in a single sitting. Fox referred to the experience as a “spiritual initiation” and expressed astonishment at MGK’s ability to withstand the discomfort.

“I cannot fathom how he endured such excruciating pain,” Fox said.
Celebrity tattoo artist Jose Contreras previously spoke to PEOPLE about the rising popularity of blackout tattoos, particularly among celebrities who value efficiency and can afford the premium cost associated with general anesthesia.

“Celebrities are paying to undergo anesthesia so they can have multiple tattoos completed in a single session,” Contreras explained. “Imagine five artists working concurrently on your entire back, allowing you to complete the entire piece in seven painless hours. You simply fall asleep, wake up, and your back is completely tattooed.”

Contreras, who has tattooed celebrities such as Post Malone, Odell Beckham Jr., and Ozuna, emphasized that such procedures are typically performed in medical clinics rather than tattoo studios, ensuring access to necessary equipment and qualified personnel. “They collaborate with certified anesthesiologists and nurses, akin to a genuine surgical operation,” he added.
