A woman from Bury St Edmunds is helping breast cancer survivors regain their confidence by offering 3D nipple and areola tattoos free of charge. Kirsty Jackson, 36, who runs Belle Rose Lashes and Beauty Academy, recently trained to provide this service, which is tailored to the unique needs of her clients.
Jackson explained that the tattoos play an important role in helping survivors feel whole again after enduring the emotional and physical toll of a mastectomy. “It’s about giving women back their confidence after they’ve been through such a challenging experience. After all the treatments, it’s often the final step in their recovery,” she said. “It’s incredibly rewarding to be able to give something back.”
She trained through The Tata Foundation, a charity dedicated to raising funds for the products, equipment, and time necessary to create these life-changing tattoos. Jackson emphasized that for her, the service was never about profit.
“It’s not about the money for me,” she shared. “There are others who charge for this service, but I find it so fulfilling to offer it for free. The reward comes from seeing the reaction on their faces when they see the finished result.”
Jackson often finds the moments when she completes the tattoos to be deeply emotional. “Some women haven’t had nipples for years,” she said. “When they see the final result, the emotion is overwhelming. It’s such a rewarding feeling knowing that they can now move forward with confidence.”
For Jackson, the experience is personal and meaningful. “Seeing their faces light up and knowing that they’ll carry that tattoo with them for life is enough for me. It’s about helping them feel better about themselves and embracing the future with a renewed sense of confidence.”
