Joshua “Josh” Palmer, a well-loved tattoo artist and owner of Old Vine Tattoo in Lodi, California, has passed away.
Palmer died after falling from a balcony while on vacation in Mexico on Tuesday, October 25, 2024. His family traveled to Rosarito to identify and reclaim his body.
A GoFundMe campaign has been established to help cover the costs of transporting his body back home. “Friends and family, we are reaching out to share the heartbreaking news of a tragic accident that claimed the life of Joshua Clayton Palmer,” wrote Chelsy Bell Carpenter, the organizer from Woodbridge, CA. “We are working to raise funds to cover the costs associated with bringing him home and arranging a meaningful farewell.”
Palmer’s Old Vine Tattoo shop was a well-known establishment in Lodi, where he was a respected member of both the business and local communities. His remarkable talent in creating complex tattoo designs made him a favorite among tattoo enthusiasts. He often received requests from clients out of state and even from other countries, which led to his extensive travels.
He is survived by two sons, who are devastated by his loss. The GoFundMe campaign has raised over $44,000 so far, exceeding its initial goal of $10,000.
